Hunter exemplified the true vizsla spirit. He made his debut as Best Puppy at three months of age at the Conestoga Vizsla Club Fun Day Match. At six months of age he picked up two majors from the puppy class his first two weekends out. He finished his CH at 11 months of age with four major wins. Hunter was defeated in the classes only once!!!! (It was a bad day.) At 18 months of age Hunter won Best in Sweepstakes at the Conestoga Vizsla Club Speciality. He completed his Junior Hunter in four consecutive passes with consistently high scores and loves to hunt for birds. At 25 months old Hunter completed his CD obedience title with class placements in four shows. He was an attentive obedience worker and went on to complete his CDX title with three placements in OPEN A. Hunter was awarded an AWARD OF MERIT at the Conestoga Vizsla Club Speciality in August of 1997 under Judge Ruppert. In limited showing he has several nice breed wins but he would much rather be in the field !! Senior hunter was completed with five consecutive passes. Hunter is a natural retriever and backer. He is a deliberate hunter and steady to wing and shot. Hunter completed his Master Hunter with 4 consecutive passes and has accumulated 8 passes of which 7 are consecutive. Hunter completed his CDX this year with three class placements with a first in OPEN A at the Conestoga Vizsla Club Specialty, a first at the ‘00 VCA Nationals, and a third over an entry of 15 dogs at the Raleigh shows to finish. Also at the ‘00 Fall Field Trial he received a 4th place in the Hunting Dog Class. In September of ‘01 Hunter earned a NAVHDA Utility prize III. He is producing typey birdy puppies with excellent bone and typical vizsla temperaments. Best of all, Hunter has the sweetest of personalities and gives the best vizsla kisses ever. He is a VERSATILE VIZSLA!!! During 2002 5 of Hunter’s get finished their show CH and he earned his ROM. A Hunter daughter went WB and BOW at the VCA Nationals in Prescott, AZ. (see Voodoo page). Hunter has sired 23+ show champion get , two master hunters, numerous senior hunters, obedience, field, Best in Specialty, Best in Sweeps, and agility titled get. He has numerous show and field titled grandkids. At the age of 13 Hunter crossed the Rainbow Bridge to be with Gordan and Jilli. There will forever be an emptiness in my heart.
